Obverse description Central device comprising the heraldic rose of Lippe, depicted as a five-petalled flower with a large diapered seed-head at centre, rendered in high relief with fine radial striations on each petal. The rose fills the field almost entirely and is surrounded by a toothed or milled inner border running along the coin's rim.

Reverse description The denomination and date are inscribed in four lines across the field in bold capital letters: '1 1/2' on the first line, 'PFEN-' on the second, 'NING.' on the third, and '1825' on the fourth, with the mintmaster's initial 'T' below in the exergue.
