Obverse description Bust of Queen Elizabeth I facing left, crowned and draped, set within an inner beaded circle. A Tudor rose appears to the right of the effigy in the field. The Latin legend runs around the periphery outside the beaded border, preceded by the mint mark. The portrait is rendered in the typical hammered style of the Elizabethan fifth issue, with fine detail on the crown and dress.
