Additional information

Muhammad Shah II ruled Gujarat for just eight years before his death in 1451, a reign short enough that copper fractional issues from his tenure are considerably scarcer than those of his longer-reigning predecessors. The Gujarat Sultanate's copper coinage of this period circulated heavily in coastal markets where the Delhi Sultanate's monetary reach had already weakened, making local fractional denominations essential for everyday trade in the region's thriving textile economy.
