| Reverse description | Reverse of hammered copper flan displaying a three-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script, similarly disposed within a plain square or rectangular cartouche. The inscription reads 'Abu al-Fath / Nasir al-Dunya / wa al-Din', rendering the sultan's honorific titles meaning 'Father of Victory, Champion of the World and the Faith'. The field outside the central panel carries additional marginal text partially visible on the irregular flan edge. The strike is somewhat uneven, as is typical of mid-fifteenth-century Gujarati copper issues, with areas of flattening and verdigris patination across the surface. |
