Beschrijving voorzijde Square hammered copper flan bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold relief, divided by a horizontal line into two registers. The upper register contains the royal titles and name of Sultan Ghiyath Shah Khalji, ruler of Malwa (r. 1468-1500), rendered in the Naskh script. The lower register continues the legend with additional honorific or denominational inscriptions. The legends are bold but somewhat worn, consistent with heavy circulation.

Aanvullende informatie

Ghiyath Shah ruled Malwa for over three decades, and his long, stable reign produced an unusually consistent copper coinage. The 1½ falus denomination is a fractional unit that appears across several Sultanate traditions but is relatively uncommon in Malwa's own series — most circulation needs were met by the full falus.

Ghiyath Shah's court at Mandu was notably cosmopolitan, and Persian literary sources describe it as a center of considerable administrative sophistication, which likely accounts for the organized fractional denominations his mint sustained across such a long production window.
