| 表面の説明 | The obverse depicts an aerial view of traditional Lithuanian smelt fishing through an ice-hole, with wooden mallets striking the end of a board laid over the man-made opening to create vibrations that attract fish. Dominating the central field is the Vytis, the national coat of arms of Lithuania, rendered in a stylized frost-crystal motif that integrates organically with the icy scene. The legend LIETUVA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2019 and the denomination 1,50€ inscribed in the lower field. The overall composition conveys a winter landscape viewed from above, uniting national heraldry with cultural heritage in a single unified design. |

Part of Lithuania's ongoing series celebrating traditional fishing methods, this issue documents smelt fishing by light attraction — a winter practice once common across the eastern Baltic, where fishermen suspended lanterns through ice holes at night to draw smelt toward the surface. The technique was both subsistence and commerce, feeding coastal communities through months when other fishing was impossible.
Lithuania's copper-nickel collector issues in this denomination are minted at UAB Lietuvos monetų kalykla, the national mint established in Vilnius only in 1990 following independence restoration.
