Obverse description The Genevan civic arms displayed within an ornate Baroque cartouche at center, the shield divided per pale with a displayed eagle on the dexter side and a key on the sinister side. The Christogram IHS within a radiant sun appears at the top of the field, flanking the divided date 17-14 on either side. The circular legend RESPUBLICA GENEVENSIS runs around the periphery, with the engraver's initials I.P. and D. inscribed in the lower field beneath the cartouche.
