| Reverse description | Gothic Crown quartered arms composition after William Wyon's celebrated 1847 design, featuring the crowned shields of England, Scotland, and Ireland symmetrically arranged around a central Garter star. The national emblems — the rose, thistle, and shamrock — occupy the angles between the shields. The Garter motto encircles the central device, with the date rendered in Roman numerals in the exergue area, and the commemorative inscription appears in the outer legend. The design is executed in deeply struck high relief, faithful to the Victorian Gothic style of the original. |
