The denomination 'ZŁ 1000 ZŁ' is rendered in large numerals along the lower portion of the coin. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' arcs around the upper periphery, while the date '19 86' is divided by the eagle's talons on either side. The mint mark 'MW' appears in small letters beneath the eagle.
