Opmerkingen

The Bank of Taiwan operated as a de facto central bank for the Republic of China government on Taiwan from 1949 onward, issuing New Taiwan Dollar notes under an arrangement that persisted until the Central Bank formally reassumed currency authority in 1961 — yet the Bank of Taiwan continued printing high-denomination notes well past that transition. This 1000 Yuan piece belongs to a later phase of that extended role.

The without-watermark variant is the cataloged distinction here. Whether the omission reflects a deliberate security revision or a production change at the Central Engraving and Printing Plant is not definitively documented in standard references.
