| 正面描述 | Central motif depicts the iconic Kotoji-toro (two-legged stone lantern) of Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa, rendered in color against a night illumination scene. Snow-protection ropes (yukitsuri) are shown binding the branches of adjacent pine trees, a hallmark wintertime feature of the garden. The colorized design captures the atmospheric nocturnal lighting of the garden in fine detail. Surrounding inscriptions identify the issuing nation and prefecture in kanji and Latin script. |

Part of Japan Mint's 47 Prefectures Coin Program, which ran from 2008 to 2016 and produced two silver issues per prefecture. Ishikawa's entry highlights the Noto Peninsula region, historically one of the most isolated coastal areas in Honshu due to its geography — a factor that preserved distinct craft traditions, particularly Wajima lacquerware and Kenroku-en garden culture, long after they had diluted elsewhere. The program was sold exclusively through a subscription lottery system, keeping mintages tightly controlled and secondary market premiums predictable from the outset.
