Obverse description Central design features a detailed engraving of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), a historic two-tiered pavilion gate in Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with traditional Korean architectural detailing including sweeping tiled roofs, stone foundations, and surrounding foliage. The Hangul legend encircles the upper periphery reading the full name of the issuing authority. The denomination '1000 WON' appears in the lower exergue in Latin script, flanked by the silver fineness and weight indicators '20 g' and 'Ag 999' on either side of the inner field.
