Obverse description At centre, the official seal of the Mongol Bank depicted within an ogival cartouche surmounted by a flame finial, enclosing the soyombo symbol above the cursive script legend 'Mongol Bank' and a decorative guilloche band below. Flanking the central cartouche are two vertical Mongolian traditional script (Uyghurjin) inscriptions in the field. The denomination '1000' in large numerals and 'ТӨГРӨГ' appear below the cartouche. Along the lower inner rim, the legend 'MONGOLIA 0.5g .9999 GOLD' is inscribed. The entire design is set within a finely milled border of uniform serrations.

Additional information

Mongolia's lunar series issues are struck in limited quantities for the collector market, with distribution handled primarily through international bullion and numismatic wholesalers rather than domestic channels. The .9999 fineness aligns with standards set by major refineries in the 2000s — a purity threshold that older gold coinages rarely met.
