Obverse description Central field features the national emblem of Mongolia — the Soyombo symbol surmounting a stylized depiction of the traditional ornamental gateway — enclosed within an oval cartouche inscribed with the issuer's name in both Cyrillic and Traditional Mongolian scripts. Below the emblem, the denomination '1000 ТӨГРӨГ' is rendered in large raised numerals and letters across the lower field. The fineness and weight inscription '0.5 gr .9999 GOLD' appears in the exergue. The coin is struck to proof quality with a highly polished field contrasting against frosted design elements.

Reverse description A finely detailed, full-bodied portrait of a mature red deer stag (Cervus elaphus) stands in profile facing left, rendered in high relief against a lightly textured ground plane suggesting natural terrain. The stag displays a prominent, fully developed rack of antlers, characteristic of the species in its prime. The Latin binomial 'CERVUS ELAPHUS' is inscribed in two lines to the right of the animal in the field. The legend 'MONGOLIAN NATURE' curves along the upper border, with the date '2017' following to the right. The design is executed in a naturalistic style with fine detail throughout the animal's musculature and coat.
