Flanking the central emblem are two vertical inscriptions in the traditional Mongolian script. Below the emblem, the denomination '1000' appears in large numerals with 'TUGRIG' beneath in Latin lettering. A circular border legend in the lower portion of the field reads '*MONGOLIA* 1/4 OZ 583.3 GOLD*2000*', with a serrated inner border running along the entire coin periphery. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A finely engraved front-facing portrait of a snow leopard (Panthera uncia) dominates the field, rendered in high relief with detailed fur texture, prominent whiskers, and a broad muzzle. The eyes of the big cat are set with two inset diamonds (0.1 carat total), lending a striking three-dimensional quality to the design. The date '2000' appears in raised numerals to the right of the animal's muzzle within the field.
