| Reverse description | A finely detailed portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, faces left in three-quarter view, rendered in high relief with careful attention to his characteristic beard and period attire. To the right of the portrait, excerpts from the Emancipation Proclamation are inscribed in cursive script across the field, evoking the appearance of the original document. The name 'ABRAHAM LINCOLN' is prominently engraved in bold block letters to the right of the bust, above the cursive legend 'forever free; and authority thereof the freedom of such persons, or any'. The commemorative dates '1865-2015' appear at the bottom right of the field, marking the 150th anniversary of the Proclamation. The partial inscription 'United States' is visible in Gothic lettering at the top of the field, further evoking the historic document. |
