Zanzibar ceased to exist as a sovereign monetary authority in 1964 when it merged with Tanganyika to form Tanzania, so any coinage invoking the Zanzibar name is a commemorative fiction — issued by Dar es Salaam for the collector market, not the islands. The "Vera Silver" branding is a bullion certification program used by the East African issuer to signal verified purity, aimed squarely at international silver stackers rather than numismatists with any regional connection.
