| Obverse description | The Ugandan national coat of arms is rendered in high relief at the center of the obverse field, depicting a traditional shield supported by a kob antelope to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with a scroll bearing the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY at the base. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2002 is divided on either side of the central device with 20 to the left and 02 to the right.
