Issued the same year Diana died — August 1997 — this Ugandan commemorative was part of a global flood of memorial coinage that followed the Paris crash. Uganda was one of dozens of smaller nations whose mints turned around tribute pieces within months of her death, largely targeting the Western collector market rather than domestic circulation. Most were sold through mail-order dealers and never spent a day in Kampala.
