| 表面の説明 | The complete coat of arms of Uganda occupies the central field, featuring a shield charged with a traditional drum and a sun, supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, both standing on a grassy mound with the national motto ribbon below reading FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY. The date is divided as 19 and 98 flanking the shield at mid-field. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1000 SHILLINGS curves along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border. |

| 裏面の説明 | A sensitively rendered relief depicts Princess Diana embracing a young child, her arms enfolding the child in a tender hug while a bouquet of flowers is held together between them in the lower field. The figures are shown in three-quarter view, with Diana's characteristic short hair rendered in fine detail. The commemorative legend IN MEMORY OF PRINCESS DIANA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 31 AUGUST 1998 inscribed below it, all within a reeded border. |

Issued in the wave of commemorative releases that flooded the market following Diana's death in August 1997, this Ugandan piece was one of dozens produced by private minting firms contracting with smaller sovereign issuers — a common arrangement that kept costs low and royalties flowing to the mint rather than the issuing nation's treasury. Uganda had no particular connection to Diana; the Bank of Uganda's name lent the legal tender status, nothing more.
KM#119 is one of several Diana varieties in the Uganda series differentiated by reverse subject.
