Additional information

Uganda's mid-1990s commemorative program produced a series of celebrity and sports-themed issues clearly aimed at the collector market rather than domestic circulation — this Schumacher piece appeared during his consecutive championship years with Ferrari's predecessor Benetton, when he won back-to-back titles in 1994 and 1995. The coins were never intended to pass through Kampala market stalls.

Struck across two calendar years under a single issue authorization, the 1996–1997 dating reflects production runs split across the mint's scheduling rather than any reissue decision.
