Kenya's 2003 independence commemorative was issued forty years after the country's 1963 break from British colonial administration, a milestone the Central Bank marked with a small series of silver issues largely aimed at the collector export market rather than domestic circulation. KM#38 sees very limited secondary market activity, suggesting modest original mintages and a collector base that has remained thin.
