Somalia's elephant bullion series, despite bearing Somali legal tender status, has been produced entirely by the Bavarian State Mint in Munich since the series launched in 2004. The ANA privy mark edition was issued in conjunction with the American Numismatic Association's annual convention, one of several collector-specific privy variants the series has generated over the years. Mintages on privy-marked issues are typically a fraction of the standard annual release.
