| Beschrijving keerzijde | A highly detailed, close-up portrait of an African elephant (Loxodonta africana) facing the viewer, rendered in fine relief with meticulous texture on the skin and tusks. The background depicts a savannah landscape with characteristic flat-topped acacia trees. A stylised large letter V with the inscription BIG V appears to the right, referencing the African Big Five series. The date 2015 is inscribed in the lower right field, and the legend ELEPHANT arches along the upper border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Tanzania's "Elephant" bullion series has run through multiple issuers and formats since the early 1990s, but the program is notable for the degree to which private German minting interests — particularly the Bavarian State Mint — shaped its commercial direction rather than the Bank of Tanzania itself. These coins were produced primarily for the European collector and investor market, with domestic circulation a legal fiction at best.
The 2015 issue carries KM#87 in the standard Krause attribution for the series, though cataloguing of Tanzanian bullion coinage from this period remains inconsistent across major references.
