| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Ugandan national coat of arms at center, featuring a crested crane on the dexter side and a Uganda kob on the sinister side as supporters, flanking a shield charged with a sun and traditional drum motif, with a representation of the River Nile in the base. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY in the exergue area. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date split as 19 and 99 on either side of the arms, and the denomination 1000 SHILLINGS inscribed along the lower rim. |
