| Aanvullende informatie |
Uganda's wildlife coin program of the early 2000s was issued partly in response to international conservation pressure following the near-collapse of the country's black rhino population during the Idi Amin and Obote years, when poaching and military hunting reduced numbers to functionally zero within Uganda's borders. The silver-clad nickel composition — rather than solid silver — kept production costs low enough to flood the collector novelty market, which is precisely where most of these ended up.
