正面描述 To the right, an intaglio-engraved oval vignette presents a laureate female bust in three-quarter view, rendered in fine line work after a design by Karl Sterrer, set against an elaborate guilloche underprint in green and rose. The centre of the note carries the denomination in Gothic blackletter script above the date and the issuer's name, flanked by symmetrical guilloche cartouches and three facsimile signatures below. A bold numeral «1000» appears at lower right, and a security warning panel occupies the left margin, all within a repeating denomination border.

备注

The Oesterreichische Nationalbank was itself only three years old when this note was issued — it had been established in 1922 as part of the League of Nations reconstruction program that hauled Austria back from hyperinflation. The 1000-Schilling denomination was the highest in the new stable currency, and its scale reflected genuine purchasing power rather than the inflationary absurdity of the preceding Kronen issues.

Rudolf Junk was a prolific Viennese graphic artist whose commercial work spanned bookplates and posters; Karl Sterrer was a painter of academic standing. An unusual pairing for a banknote commission, and it shows in the design's character.
