Issued to mark the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, founded in 1863 following Henry Dunant's firsthand witness of the Battle of Solferino. Nepal's participation in this commemorative program reflects the country's long engagement with humanitarian operations — the Nepal Red Cross Society has been active since 1963, coinciding with the movement's centenary.
