Nepal's Junior Red Cross movement, operating through school-level chapters across the country, has been active since the mid-twentieth century under coordination with the International Federation. This commemorative was issued by Nepal Rastra Bank to mark the organization's continued domestic presence — one of several silver issues the bank produced during this period for collector and presentation purposes rather than general circulation.
