Tri-Chandra College, established in 1918 in Kathmandu, was Nepal's first institution of higher education — founded under Prime Minister Chandra Shamsher Rana, whose name it bears alongside his two brothers. Its centenary in 2018 was commemorated a year early with this issue, a scheduling irregularity not uncommon in Nepal Rastra Bank's commemorative program.
