| Obverse description | A detailed high-relief effigy of the extinct Dodo bird occupies the central field, depicted in left profile standing on a ground line, its plumage rendered with fine engraved detail. The legend 'BANK OF MAURITIUS' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, flanked on each side by a small asterisk ornament. The commemorative dual dates '1967 - 2017' appear in the lower arc, separated by a hyphen, recording the founding year of the institution and the year of issue. The entire design is framed by an inner beaded border set against a deeply mirrored proof field. |
