Obverse description Printed in brown by letterpress on plain paper, the obverse presents a straightforward typographic layout bearing the large denomination numeral '1000' and the Cyrillic legend ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ in bold lettering at centre, with serial number panels positioned at upper left and right. The denomination 1000 РУБЛЕЙ is repeated vertically in both side margins, while a counterfeiting penalty warning and the date 1920 occupy the lower centre. Two manuscript signatures of the Commissar-Manager (Комиссар-Управляющий) and the Cashier (Кассир) appear beneath their respective printed titles in the lower field.

Reverse description The reverse, printed in brown by letterpress, carries a circular state emblem vignette at the left encircled by the legend ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ identifying the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. The central field presents the denomination ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ in large Cyrillic letters with a parallel Arabic-script rendering above, while two blocks of Cyrillic text in the lower portion record the note's issuance by the People's Bank in Tashkent under decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the R.S.F.S.R. and its legal tender status backed by the wealth of the Russian Republic. Additional Arabic-script text is distributed across the upper and right areas, with the numeral '1000' at the lower right.
