| Obverse description | Draped bust of Liberty facing right, her hair arranged in an elaborate chignon adorned with a sprig of coffee or laurel leaves, rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style. Sixteen five-pointed stars, without separating dashes, are distributed evenly around the periphery between the bust and the beaded border. The circular legend REPUBLICA DOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRAZIL runs along the upper arc, while the date 1913 appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. |
