| 正面描述 | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, depicting the monarch facing right wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a draped neckline. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine medallic detail. The legend encircling the obverse reads 'ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·1000 POUNDS', with the engraver's initials 'J.C' appearing in the field. The composition reflects the refined neoclassical portrait tradition adopted by the Royal Mint. |

The Lunar Series II £1000 one-kilo gold proof was struck under a licensing arrangement with the Perth Mint's parent framework, with the Royal Mint having launched its own competing British Lunar programme beginning with the 2014 Horse. The timing was deliberate — the Royal Mint was watching significant collector and investment demand flow toward Australian and Chinese lunar issues and moved to capture a share of that market directly.
Mintage for this denomination was capped at 38 pieces.
