| Reverse description | The full reverse is occupied by a reproduction of Augusto Ballerini's painting "El paso de los Andes", rendered in warm brown and ochre tones, illustrating the legendary crossing of the Andes mountain range in 1817 by the Army of the Andes under the command of General José de San Martín. The title inscription "EL PASO DE LOS ANDES" appears within the design, accompanied by the denomination and issuer legends. Fine guilloche border work frames the central vignette. |
