| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed portrait of General José de San Martín occupies the right portion of the note, labeled "Gral. SAN MARTIN" beneath, set against a multicolored guilloche underprint in teal, purple, and gold tones. At center, the denomination "MIL" appears in bold letterpress within an elaborate rosette guilloche, above the legend "Pesos Argentinos". The issuer's name "BANCO CENTRAL DE LA REPUBLICA ARGENTINA" is inscribed at the top center, with two facsimile signatures above the titles "GERENTE GENERAL" and "PRESIDENTE", while a large numeral "1000" vignette in teal appears at the lower right and upper left. |
