Obverse description Black intaglio print on pink and blue guilloche underprint. A seated allegorical female figure, partially draped, occupies the left vignette, resting against a classical column with a tropical landscape in the background; the bank title is spread across the upper portion within an elaborate engraved cartouche, with the denomination "UN MIL PESOS" boldly stated at centre-right alongside a floral vignette. Denomination numerals "1.000" appear at lower left and "1000" at upper and lower right, with the date "Bogotá, Marzo 4 de 1895" and the printer's imprint along the lower margin.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red. A central vignette presents a female bust in an elaborate headdress and collar of pre-Columbian or Egyptianate style, set within a radiate guilloche medallion at centre. The denomination "UN MIL PESOS" flanks the central vignette, with large ornate numeral "1000" panels at lower left and lower right; symmetrical decorative corner pieces incorporate scrollwork, floral rosettes, and crossed torch motifs. The printer's imprint and the cashier's signature line labelled "EL CAJERO" appear in the lower portion.
