At upper center, a circular medallion bears the Banco de la República seal with a classical female figure, enclosed by the legend 'BANCO DE LA REPÚBLICA · BOGOTÁ COLOMBIA'. The denomination '1000' appears at upper-left and upper-right, with 'MIL PESOS' at lower-right and the printer's imprint 'IMPRENTA DE BILLETES · SANTA FE DE BOGOTA' at the bottom margin. |

| 备注 |
Colombia's central bank printing facility — the Imprenta de Billetes — was established in Bogotá in the 1950s, and by the 1990s was handling virtually the entire domestic currency output, a degree of self-sufficiency unusual among Latin American nations of comparable size. This note belongs to a transitional period: the city was officially renamed Santa Fe de Bogotá under the 1991 constitution, and the printer's imprint reflects that short-lived designation, used only until 2000 when the name reverted.
The watermark-only security suite is notably sparse for a four-figure denomination by mid-1990s standards, when security thread and color-shifting ink were already common among peer issuers.
