This note was issued across a period that opened with the March 1976 military coup and closed as the junta's economic program was visibly collapsing. Argentina's monetary situation during these years was severe: annual inflation routinely exceeded 100%, and the 1000 Peso denomination — once significant — had been eroded to near-irrelevance by the time printing wound down. The entire P#304 series was ultimately rendered obsolete by the June 1983 introduction of the Peso Argentino, which redenominated at 10,000 old Pesos to one new unit.
Casa de Moneda's watermark security on this series is minimal by contemporary standards — a single-tone design with no fluorescent threads or serial number controls beyond standard intaglio.
