Pick 158 is the 1979 1000 Pesetas issue from the Banco de España, printed by the FNMT in Madrid. The genuine article is common enough — millions circulated until peseta-series notes were withdrawn following Spain's adoption of the euro in 2002. What this entry documents is a replica, not a circulated original.

Replicas of this type were produced legally for educational and display purposes under Spanish law, which requires the word "SPECIMEN" or equivalent marking to prevent tendering. Worth cataloging, but the collectible value lies entirely in the original series.
