Reverse description The reverse carries a large colour reproduction of Antonio María Esquivel's celebrated painting 'Los poetas contemporáneos. Una lectura de Zorrilla en el estudio del pintor' (The Contemporary Poets: A Reading by Zorrilla in the Painter's Studio), held in the Museo del Prado, Madrid. The scene renders a gathering of literary and artistic figures attending a poetry reading, executed in rich warm tones within a ruled frame. The denomination 'MIL PESETAS' and 'BANCO DE ESPAÑA' appear in the surrounding letterpress borders alongside the numeral '1000'.
