备注

Finland's postwar financial position in 1945 was dire enough that the government moved quickly to implement a currency reform — this 1000 Markkaa note was part of the transitional issue before the 1945 reform took effect in January 1946, when all existing notes had to be declared and exchanged at a rate that effectively froze large holdings and forced wealthy Finns to account for wartime accumulations. The "Litt. A" designation distinguishes this from subsequent letter variants introduced during that same reform period.

Printed domestically at the Valtion painatuskeskus rather than abroad — a notable shift from prewar practice when Finnish high-denomination notes were often contracted to Continental printers.
