| Opmerkingen |
Traunstein's municipal emergency currency was one of thousands of Notgeld issues that flooded Bavaria in 1922 as hyperinflation outpaced the Reichsbank's ability to keep denominations relevant. What distinguishes district-level issues like this one from city-only Notgeld is the joint authority — both the Stadtrat and the Bezirksamt had to stand behind it, a bureaucratic arrangement that occasionally produced disputes over redemption obligations when the notes were eventually called in.
Leopoldseder was a local commercial printer, not a security press. No intaglio, no specialized inks — just letterpress production under deadline pressure as the mark collapsed.
