Obverse description Tan and brown Notgeld note printed on a fine guilloche underprint ground. The large denomination numeral '1000' appears in the upper left, with the value legend 'Ein Tausend Mark' in bold letterpress across the upper field. A central vignette on a dark starburst-shaped panel carries the payment clause text and a stylised knitting machine motif — a reference to Apolda's textile industry — with the numeral '1000' integrated into its base. To the lower left, the city arms of Apolda are printed in green, while a circular embossed town seal appears to the lower right. The date 'Apolda i. Thür., den 25. September 1922' and two manuscript facsimile signatures appear in the lower portion of the note.
