The barcode serial number on this note — unusual for a denomination this low — was introduced as part of Banque du Liban's broader effort to bring machine-readable tracking to circulating paper after Lebanon's long post-civil-war currency stabilization. The "new font" designation in catalog listings refers to a modified typeface applied to the serial numbering, a mid-run change significant enough to warrant a separate Pick listing despite no alteration to the security thread or watermark configuration.
The 1,000 Livres by this period was a workhorse denomination in daily transactions, heavily circulated and often worn. Uncirculated examples from this print run are harder to source than the print quantity alone would suggest.
