| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features a raised relief depiction of the R.M.S. Titanic in left profile, shown underway on stylized waves with her four funnels and White Star Line pennant visible, occupying the left portion of the field. To the right, a circular color insert bears a polychrome photographic-style portrait of the Titanic's bow as seen from slightly below, rendered in full color with a blue sky and sea background. The legend TITANIC arcs prominently along the upper periphery in bold serif letters, while the commemorative inscription APRIL 15. 2.20 a.m. 1912 curves along the lower periphery, recording the precise time and date of the vessel's sinking. The coin features a beaded inner border. |

Zambia's 1998 commemorative program produced a string of thematic issues bearing denominations wildly detached from their actual purchasing power — the kwacha had collapsed through the 1990s under IMF structural adjustment pressures and chronic copper revenue shortfalls. These coins were never intended for circulation. They were struck for the souvenir and collector export market, with the Bank of Zambia licensing the Titanic theme in the same year James Cameron's film grossed nearly $2 billion globally.
KM#100 is copper-nickel rather than silver, placing it at the budget end of the commemorative spectrum.
