| 表面の説明 | Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the date divided to either side of the portrait, reading '20' to the left and '02' to the right. The legend 'BANK OF ZAMBIA' arcs across the upper field, while the denomination '1000 KWACHA' appears in the lower field below the bust. The portrait is rendered in a simple, unadorned style consistent with a standard Commonwealth effigy. |

David Livingstone crossed the African continent from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean between 1853 and 1856, becoming the first European to document Victoria Falls — located on what is now the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. Zambia has repeatedly drawn on his image for commemorative issues, partly because Livingstone-the-town, named after him, served as the country's capital until 1935.
KM#159 belongs to a broader run of Zambian silver commemoratives from the early 2000s that targeted the collector market almost exclusively, with negligible circulation intent.
