Additional information

Zambia's wildlife coin program of the 2010s was largely driven by export demand — these pieces were struck for the European collector market, not for any domestic monetary purpose, and were never intended to circulate. The African oryx is not native to Zambia, which makes its appearance on a Zambian-issued coin a function of commercial appeal rather than zoological accuracy.
