| Obverse description | The Zambian national coat of arms is displayed prominently in the center of the field, supported on either side by a human figure — a Zambian man to the left and a Zambian woman to the right — both rendered in fine relief. An eagle with outstretched wings surmounts the shield, which bears a wavy pattern representing the Victoria Falls. A ribbon at the base of the arms carries the motto 'ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION'. The circular legend 'BANK OF ZAMBIA' arcs along the upper rim, the four-digit date '19 99' is divided by the supporters in the middle field, and the denomination '1000 KWACHA' appears in bold relief along the lower rim. |
