| Obverse description | The Zambian national arms occupies the central field, flanked on either side by the date with '19' to the left and '98' to the right. The circular legend 'BANK OF ZAMBIA' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals. The denomination '1000 KWACHA' is inscribed along the lower rim. The arms depict two figures supporting a shield surmounted by an eagle displayed, with natural and agricultural emblems in the base, rendered in sharp relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |
