| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features a depiction of the Madonna of Sinj (Gospa Sinjska), flanked by the monogram 'G S'. The Croatian national coat of arms is prominently displayed, with the denomination '1000 KUNA' inscribed in the field below. A circular legend surrounds the design, reading 'REPUBLIKA HRVATSKA' along the upper periphery. The overall composition is executed in high relief in a devotional artistic style befitting the Marian iconographic tradition. |

The Alka of Sinj is a horseback lance tournament held annually in the town of Sinj since 1715, originally staged to commemorate a Croatian and Venetian victory over Ottoman forces that same year. Outnumbered and poorly supplied, the Sinjani defenders repelled an Ottoman army estimated at several times their strength — a genuinely improbable outcome that local tradition attributes partly to religious intercession. UNESCO added the Alka to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2010.
The tournament's strict rulebook, the Alkarsko pravilo, has governed competition since the 18th century and remains essentially unchanged.
